Joey Devries is a 22 year old singer-songwriter from Wales, best known for appearing in boy band Overload Generation, who appeared on The X Factor in 2014. Unfortunately the band were voted out of the competition in the show in the first week. Since the band split, Joey has continued in the music industry, releasing several singles such as ‘Never Ever’ and ‘Fix My Heart.’ He also supported Little Mix on the second half on their ‘Get Weird’ UK and Ireland Tour.
Here at CelebMix, we review some of our favourite covers by Joey. Check them out below.
1. ‘Treat You Better’ (Shawn Mendes)
Joey released this cover shortly after finishing as a support act for Little Mix on their tour. He completely revamped the song, and we love it! The beat reminds us of the original song ‘Treat You Better’ and ‘Rock Me’ by One Direction. It manages to get a pop and rock vibe at the same time, and it is an excellent cover!

2. ‘This Town’ (Niall Horan)
It’s never easy covering a song by a member from one of the world’s largest bands, but Joey does an excellent job. This is one of Joey’s most recent cover, and was extremely well received by his fans!

3. ‘Starving’ (Hailee Steinfield, Grey featuring Zedd)
Not only does this cover show off Joey’s incredible vocals once again, but it shows how much he cares for his fans. Joey has always gone above and beyond for the people who support him, always being there for them, especially if they are going through a tough time.

4. ‘Paris’ (The Chainsmokers)
Joey teamed up with Michael Sutthakorn for this cover, and their voices together sound incredible! Joey and Michael were previously in a band together, but unfortunately that didn’t work out – but it was nice to see them join up for this incredible cover, we love it!

5. ‘Perfect Strangers’ (Jonas Blue featuring JP Cooper)/’What Do You Mean?’ (Justin Bieber)
Here at CelebMix, we love this mash up Joey did of two very popular songs. The mash up is very stripped back, providing Joey with an opportunity to showcase his vocals, and we really love this cover!
