Akala is set to debut his graphic novel with a live performance at MCM London Comic Con.
The hip-hop artist will perform the musical soundtrack to ‘Visions’, which is a semi-autobiographical magical realist story. It follows his popular illustrated poem ‘The Ruins of Empires’, which was released back in 2014.
MCM London Comic Con is the UK’s biggest pop culture event, which sees over 130,000 weekend visitors at Excel London. Akala will take to the Gold Stage at 1pm on Saturday 29 October for an hour long unique fan experience. In terms of performance, he will be sharing ‘Visions’ as well as live readings from ‘The Ruins of Empires’ with the audience. Following that, he will be participating in a Q&A and sign autographs for fans. He will also make several signing appearances over the course of the weekend. More information is available here.
Akala is currently on tour across the UK and beyond, performing tracks from his new retrospective album 10 Years Of Akala, which celebrates ten years of the star. The album includes ‘Giants’, a collaboration with Kabaka Pyramid and Marshall.
‘Visions’ is available to pre-order now.
