For the first time in four long years, Alicia Keys is back with a new single, titled In Common.
The track is the first taste of Keys’ sixth studio album, which is expected to drop this summer. In Common has been described as the perfect summer dance track, adorned with kaleidoscopic synthesisers and fast Latin-inspired beat. Co-written by the producer behind hits released by The Weeknd, Drake and Wiz Khalifa, Keys’ first single from her next album is set to be a hit.
On the influences responsible for the making of the track, Keys said:
“We all have our issues, our challenges. We are all kind of messed up and that’s alright. In fact, that’s what helps us understand each other…”
Many fans have relished the fact that Keys is back and thriving, with a new sound:

Whatever the case, the music industry is feeling shaken up by this musician’s new single.
As if the hype of her new track wasn’t enough, Alicia Keys also released a statement on her website, announcing she will perform at the UEFA Champions League Final Opening Ceremony on May 28th. It will be the first time ever that a live music performance is a part of the Final.
On her website, Keys says, “I’m extremely excited to share my new music at the UEFA Champions League Final, an event that is celebrated in every corner of the world. This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are. I’m honored to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”
The star is also no stranger to night shows – she’s headed for Saturday Night Live later on in her promotional run.
After such a long period of quiet, fans aren’t sure how to deal with all this new information. One thing is for sure, though: Alicia Keys is back.
