If you are looking for a song that makes your heart swell and your lips curve upwards, you have come to the right place.
Less than twenty-four hours ago, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke, alongside German DJ/producer Topic, released their first collaboration together. Entitled “Perfect,” the song dives into someone fighting with their insecurities, and whenever they become noticeable, their partner does not hesitate to tell them they are perfect.
Later in the day, the two dropped the song’s official music video. It features an emotional and vulnerable Ally Brooke, who is seen to be struggling with accepting who she is. Throughout the video, she is comforted by Topic, but in the end, she is the one to lift herself up.
Shortly after the release, Ally took to Instagram, explaining her real battle with self-love. She also expressed her hope for the song to lift people who are currently having trouble accepting their flaws.

This song is very special to me because I am sharing a very vulnerable part of myself….I can feel on top of the world, I can be very confident, feel extremely happy……but sometimes, even the sunshine gets covered by the clouds…..I have felt every word of this song; scared, lonely, sad, not good enough. But what is so beautiful, is that the sun will always shine….self-love is powerful. To acknowledge who you are, to LOVE who you are, is something so indescribably beautiful. Something amazing happens when you embrace and nurture who you are. I thank the inner part of myself that whispers “you’re beautiful. You’re enough. You’re amazing”. I hope that this song brings light to those in a low place, where things seem hopeless. I hope it can uplift those who are hurting. And I hope you can be inspired to truly love who you are….
