Oh my my my! Oh my my my! BTS’ music video for “Boy With Luv” has officially surpassed 200 million views on YouTube as of today, April 24. The music video originally released on April 12th along with the group’s album for Map of the Soul: Persona, meaning that it reached the milestone within just twelve days, the fastest video to do so on the platform.
Within 24 hours of being released, the music video broke the YouTube record for achieving the most views in a single day with 74.6 million views. It broke the previous record held by BLACKPINK for their “Kill This Love,” music video, released just one week prior to “Boy With Luv.”
“Boy With Luv” is BTS’ twelfth music video to surpass the 200-million mark, after “IDOL,” “FAKE LOVE,” “MIC Drop,” “DNA,” “Not Today,” “Spring Day,” “Blood, Sweat & Tears,” “Save Me,” “FIRE, “DOPE,” and “Boy In Luv.”
BTS will perform their new single with Halsey, who features on the track, at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. It will be the two’s first live performance together, and according to the “Closer” singer’s tweets, she seems just a bit nervous to perform alongside the K-pop superstars.
After tweeting that she had accidentally rubbed her eyes after peeling garlic, she jokingly wrote that she did so as an excuse to not make eye contact with Jimin of BTS.
In the music video, the two dance right beside each other, and at one point, their choreography leads them to face one another. Instead of facing Jimin in the video, Halsey looked off to the side! Fans are hoping she’ll finally make eye contact with Jimin at the BBMAs, but we’ll just have to wait and see!
