In a move that is sure to leave many power ballad fans ecstatic, Céline Dion covered John Farnham’s You’re the Voice at her Sydney concert, on 27 July 2018.
In her first Australian tour since 2008, the My Heart Will Go On star teased her Qudos Bank Arena audience before surprising everyone with the first verse of the iconic Australian classic:
It’s always been part of my warmup… and routine.
Dion was so excited for the occasion that she mixed up the lyrics, apologised, and asked her band to start again. Second time around, she belted the memorable lyrics with the crowd enthusiastically singing along until the very last note.
It was definitely a memorable moment in power ballad history. Thankfully, one concert-goer captured the whole cover on video and shared it on YouTube for all music fans to rejoice.
Dion will perform two shows in Sydney before she embarks across other capital cities including Brisbane and Melbourne in the Australian leg of her tour.
