Star Wars: The Force Awakens lead actress, Daisy Ridley, will star in Lionsgate’s adaptation of the popular young adult novel, Chaos Walking.
Lionsgate CEO, Jon Feltheimer confirmed Ridley’s attachment to the movie adaptation on Thursday.
Chaos Walking is a post-apocalyptic thriller, by author Patrick Ness. It is set in a dystopian world. All living creatures can hear one another’s thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds, called “Noise.” The series contains three novels and three short stories
The Chaos Walking Trilogy By Patrick Ness
The first part in the trilogy, The Knife of Never Letting Go, centers around the two protagonists, Todd and Viola. Todd is the only boy in Prentisstown, whose population consists of men. He then makes a shocking discovery and flees with his dog, Manchee. Along his path, he meets a strange girl named Viola, and the two then embark on a wild journey.
Ridley has already filmed the next movie in the Star Wars franchise, and will also star in several other movies as well. One is Kolma, with producer J.J. Abrams, and the other, The Lost Wife, with producer Robbie Brenner.
Production for the Chaos Walking movie will begin next year.
