Here at CelebMix, we love championing exciting new talent and sharing some of our favourite artists with you. Today, we’re putting the spotlight on Essex singer-songwriter Cal Turner who released his debut EP One Day earlier this month.
Whilst Cal started out by playing football, his passion for music soon took over and he learned to play the piano and guitar. Considering that music is something which runs in his family, with both his mother and grandad being musically minded, it was no surprise that Cal decided to pursue it as a career.
Over the past three years or so, Cal has been busy building up his reputation as a solo artist by performing at numerous gigs including with Alstar Music and Elite Talent. Additionally, he has also attended a number of high profile events including Celebrity Soccer Six.
Alongside honing his craft as a singer-songwriter, Cal has garnered an incredibly loyal fanbase who continuously give him the motivation to become the best artist he can be. Cal has also proven to be a kind hearted philanthropist and prides himself on helping others and giving back to the community.
At the beginning of this month, Cal unveiled his debut EP One Day, something which his dedicated supporters have been anticipating for a long time. The EP includes three tracks titled ‘One Day’, ‘Haven’ and ‘Two Minds’. Written about his personal experiences, One Day gives fans an insight into Cal’s mind and showcases his songwriting talent.
Each individual track shows a different side to Cal: ‘One Day’ is laced with an irresistible electro-pop beat, ‘Haven’ is a meaningful ballad, whilst ‘Two Minds’ has a slick RnB vibe. Whilst each song stands out individually, the EP flows cohesively and gives an all round feel as to what we can expect from the artist in the future.
Speaking about the EP, Cal said: “I can’t explain how happy I am to finally put music out there for my fans to listen to, thanks to everyone who continues to support me on my musical journey.”
