Canadian DJ and producer Ekali teams up with gold-selling Australian multi-talent Wafia for his latest release, titled “Be Fine”. It marks the second time that the two pair up, following a remix Ekali made of Wafia’s 2016 release “Meet In The Middle”.
This new track sees the two making their way through the fallout of a troubled relationship. “It’s the wrong conversation to have while we’re wasted“, Wafia acknowledges at the beginning of the song. A chill beat accompanies that all-too familiar feeling of upcoming heartbreak.
The track then continues into an honest yet hopeful chorus: “I’m not gonna sleep for a while, eat for a while […] but I’ll be fine. But you’ll be fine.” Wafia’s smooth vocals are draped over a silky production that resonates a certain kind of warmth not often found anymore in music.
Talking about the track on Twitter, the producer revealed that “it’s about the pain you feel when you lose something you thought you never would, and how life will make it’s course in the end, but you’ll be okay.” And that is exactly how it feels like listening to “Be Fine”.

With the release of “Be Fine”, “Sad Girl / Boy Autumn” has now officially found its way to the dance genre (and will most likely continue to blossom as Ekali is set to debut his album soon). It is a perfect example of Ekali incorporating his unique approach into music and turning sadness into something great. The addition of Wafia helps turning the already-great release into something even better.

“Be Fine” was written by Wafia, W. Darling, Cass Lowe and Ekali. It is the second single off of Ekali’s upcoming LP, following the release of “Runaway” earlier this year.
