Ever since Emily Warren released her new single ‘Paranoid’ earlier this month, we’ve been bopping along and patiently awaiting a music video for it.
We’re delighted to say that the wait is finally over and Emily has delivered quite possibly her best visual yet. Inspired by Alfred Hitchcock, the black and white visual sees a man (played by Branson Reese) being haunted by a former lover, played by Emily. Dressed in a glamorous full length gown, teamed up with gloves, a veiled fascinator and pearls, Emily follows Branson around his home, driving him to the point of insanity.
Speaking about the video, Emily told Teen Vogue. “My longtime friend — and the director of the video — Matt Porter, is the one who came up with the concept. We knew we wanted to do something that played on the idea of paranoia, [like] some kind of horror-movie, and since both of us are fans of Alfred Hitchcock and noir or black-and-white style [movies], this is what we landed on.”

‘Paranoid’ is taken from Emily’s forthcoming debut album which is due for release in August and follows on from her previous releases ‘Hurt By You’, ‘Something To Hold On To’ and ‘Poking Holes’.
In addition to perfecting her solo album, Emily has continued to share her special songwriting craft with the world through a number of co-writes for other artists. Some of her 2018 releases include Sigrid’s ‘High Five’, Bebe Rexha’s ‘Don’t Get Any Closer’, and all tracks from The Chainsmokers’ Sick Boy EP.
We’re already counting down the days until Emily’s debut album, but for the time being we’re going to be hitting the replay button on her haunting new visual.
