Exclusive: ROSIE Chats About New Single “Startover”

Rising singer-songwriter, ROSIE, is capturing the attention of listeners worldwide with her genuine personality and dynamic talent. Following the release of her debut single “Crash and Burn” back in 2018, ROSIE has garnered millions of streams and welcomed the development of a hardcore fanbase. It’s clear that this is only the beginning for the star as she progressively continues to reach new heights as time goes on. Between her vulnerable lyrics, quality production, and stunning vocals, the “Social Stamina” singer has proven she’s a true force to be reckon with within the music industry. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, ROSIE opens up about her new single “Startover,” upcoming projects, and more.

What can you tell us about your latest single “Startover” and the inspiration behind that track?

The day I wrote “Startover” I was feeling particularly emotional and vulnerable. On the surface, it may sound like a break-up track, but it’s also about my relationship to my mental health and certain parts of myself that I knew I had to let go of. I could not have created it without the help and support of my co-writers, Jay Stolar and Johnny Simpson!

How does this particular single differ from the other tracks you have released in the past, whether it was the recording process or how it came about in general?

I like to call this song the beginning of my “confident era.” I feel like I’m really starting to find myself as a person, and it’s reflecting in my music, especially in “Startover.” Sonically, it’s a lot more upbeat and I feel like there’s a certain power in my voice that I haven’t used in a song yet. I’m pretty proud of this one!

Can fans look forward to the release of a larger project this year or are you solely focusing on singles right now?

Fans can definitely expect an EP! I have been putting my heart and soul into this next project and I can’t wait for the world to hear it!

The fans absolutely love your collaboration with John K on “ilym.” What was it like to work with him on that track?

I cannot say enough positive things about John and his team! They are all equally as kind as they are talented and hardworking, and it was such a great first feature experience. I still can’t believe how well received our version was, but then again, love is love is love is love, and this song has a whole lot of love in it.

Do you have any other artists on your list that you would love to collaborate with in the future?

I actually have a huge list! I am such a fan of so many artists, but I’ll give you a few: Tate McRae, Noah Kahan, Conan Gray, and Taylor Swift.

You’re very active on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram. What is your favorite platform to share content on and connect with your fans?

I would say at the moment my favorite platform is TikTok, specifically this second account I made, because it really does feel like a little community. I’m really hard on myself when it comes to creating high quality content, so much so that sometimes I forget to just have fun with it and connect with fans, so that’s really what my alternate account (@musiccrosie) is all about!

What else can fans look forward to seeing and hearing from you this year?

I have so many huge things in store for this year, lots of new music, lots of live shows, and some other wild surprises! Keep your eyes out!
