It’s been a very successful year for pop star Halsey! Coming off of the release of her debut album Badlands in 2015, she continued her tour in support of the album. The tour ended almost a year after it began, on September 18, 2016 in Singapore.

    “Colors” Single

Halsey released her single “Colors” off of the album Badlands on February 9th. The music video for the single was released later that month, featuring Tyler Posey. The video was well-received, mainly due to the plot twist at the end.

    Coachella With Brandon Urie

In April, Halsey got to perform at the Coachella festival. During her set, she brought out one of her heroes Brandon Urie from Panic! At The Disco. Their performance was one memorable moment!

    “Castle” Single

In early April, Halsey released her song “Castle” for the movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War. A corresponding music video features snippets from the movie interspersed with Halsey singing in royal attire.

    Rolling Stone Interview

In late July, Rolling Stone released an interview with Halsey. Within the interview, she revealed intimate details of her life, including a miscarriage that she had on tour right before going on stage.

‘”It’s the angriest performance that I’ve ever done in my life,’ she says, her voice breaking. ‘That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, ‘I don’t feel like a fucking human being anymore.””

Many people lauded her honesty and sent messages of love and support.

    “Closer” with The Chainsmokers

One of the most successful events to happen this year was the release of “Closer” with American DJs The Chainsmokers. The song, released in July, hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. It stayed there for an impressive 12 weeks. The song marks both Halsey’s and The Chainsmokers’ first number one song. The video for the song was released October 24.

Halsey and The Chainsmokers have performed “Closer” at a couple of different award shows. The first performance was at the 2016 VMAs:

They also performed the song at the American Music Awards on November 20:
