It’s been four-hundred and fourty-four days since we last sat down to watch an episode of, “Game of Thrones,” and yes we’ve counted every day. But finally our watch has ended… Well, sort of, with HBO taking to all of their social media accounts today (13th November), to reveal when the final series of the show is set to premiere. And it’s sooner than we expected!
Following months of rumours, fears of push-backs, and Cersei-like, “I choose violence,” tantrums on our part every time someone even dared to mention that the final series could air later than planned, we finally have a rough premiere date to look forward to.
That’s right, the lovely people at HBO decided to put us out of our misery today by revealing that the eighth and final series of mega-hit, “Game of Thrones,” would be airing in April 2019. Now while that isn’t an exact air date, we’ll take all we can get at this point.
News of the series’ air date was unveiled at the end of an exciting teaser trailer which was posted to the show’s official social media accounts this afternoon. Sadly the teaser was only a replay of some of the most crucial moments in, “Game of Thrones,” history so we couldn’t really pick it apart and try to guess will happen in the upcoming series but the caption that went along with it definitely got our excitement building.
“Every battle. Every betrayal. Every risk. Every fight. Every sacrifice. Every death. All for the throne,” it read, featuring a super cool throne emoji.
The teaser was then broken down into pictures, with each being posted consecutively on the show’s Twitter account with the hashtag, #AllForTheThrone, hinting at what we can expect when, “Game of Thrones,” returns to our screens next year.
