Hollyoaks is about to be shaken up by the arrival of the Nightingale family! The new family will be taking over the iconic pub, The Dog in the Pond and are sure to cause a stir amongst the locals.
Eagle eyed viewers will already recognise Mac Nightingale, played by David Easter, who appeared a few months ago as Cindy Cunningham’s secret husband. Mac came to the village to ask Cindy for a divorce but she ignored his request, which is bound to cause chaos as Mac is now happily engaged to his partner Neeta.
Neeta Kaur, played by Amrit Maghera, is Mac’s partner. Despite a big age gap between them, the rest of the Nightingales have accepted Neeta into the family, aside from daughter Ellie who believes she’s a gold digger. The fact that Neeta is only two years older than Ellie doesn’t help either!
Ellie Nightingale is played by Sophie Porley and is the drama queen of the family – that makes Hollyoaks the perfect village for her to reside in! Alfie Nightingale is played by Richard Linnell and is the youngest of the Nightingale clan. He will become a pupil at Hollyoaks High and will no doubt interact with the current youngsters Tom, Peri and Nico.
Jared Garfield will be playing the latest Hollyoaks heartthrob, Nathan Nightingale. He is sure to cause many hearts to flutter however he comes with a girlfriend in tow. Rachel Hardy, played by Jennifer Brooke is the girlfriend in question and is the last member of the new family.
Hollyoaks’ Series Producer Emily Gascoyne has revealed that the introduction of the Nightingale family will also pave way for more storylines surrounding the student village. She told Digital Spy that “The youngsters will be coming into The Dog. While we won’t be going to HCC for a while yet, we are starting to seed it back into the show. Nathan will be a student there, while Neeta will be hosting lots of different crazy student nights at the pub!”.
The Nightingales make their debut on Hollyoaks on Monday October 26th at 6:30pm.
