Here at CelebMix, we love introducing our readers to up and coming talent. In this article, we introduce you to the extremely talented Archie Faulks.
Archie Faulks made his first appearance in band Tenterhook. The band went on to be a success, with some of their achievements including the release of two EPs and collating millions of streams on Spotify.
Now as a solo artist, he has released his debut single ‘It Rains,’ a beautiful, emotional and solemn love song, with truly heart-wrenching lyrics. An equally captivating music video accompanies the track, whereby Archie is in a deserted school, while two dancers perform an enchanting routine around him.
‘For the video, we wanted something that reflected the song’s feel. Smooth, under-rated and introspective. Theo, the Director, used a combination of 16mm film and digital shots to create a warm aesthetic throughout.’
He recently sold out a show in London’s Servant Jazz Quarters and has announced another headline show in London’s St Pancras Old Church on 12 November. Tickets can be bought here.

CelebMix had the opportunity to speak with Archie Faulks about his recent headline show, his single ‘It Rains’ and more:
You recently had a headline show in London. How did that go for you?
‘Absolutely loved it. It was the intimate setting of Servant Jazz Quarters in London and after having being away for three years, it was amazing to hear people singing back my old songs and being attentive to the new ones. I cracked quite a lot of bad jokes though, so might have to reel that in for future shows!’
What was the main inspiration for your track ‘It Rains’?
‘A relationship that was both beautiful and toxic, which drove me close to insanity, but also was pretty damn special at the same time.’
How did you come up with the concept for the music video?
‘One of the dancers, Emmy, is an old friend and I wanted some sort of choreography to accompany the track. The director, Theo, found a school in Oxford and thought it was the perfect setting for two dancers to tell the story of the song, while I acted as some sort of moody/pouty narrator.
Who are your musical influences?
‘Difficult to answer, but I guess if I had to choose a top three, I would probably go for John Martyn, Cole Porter and Nick Drake.’
What else have you got lined up for the rest of the year/next year music-wise?
‘I am recording the rest of my debut record for most of September, which is due out next year. I then play St Pancras Old Church in London on 12 November and then hopefully tour further afield before the end of the year, with a single accompanying it.’
