One of Hollywood’s biggest actors Jake Gyllenhaal is starring in the new movie Demolition of Jean-Marc Vallée, director of movies like Dallas Buyers Club, Wild or The Young Victoria.
Demolition, which is not the first movie Gyllenhaal stars in together with Chris Cooper (They have before starred together in ‘October Sky‘ and ‘Jarhead‘), premieres in the UK at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival – as GFF has announced on its full programme for the upcoming 12th festival, running Feb 17-28.
The story is about Davis (Jake Gyllenhaal), a successful investment banker, who struggles after losing his wife in a tragic car crash. Despite pressure from Phil (Chris Cooper), to pull it together, he continues to unravel. What starts as a complaint letter to a vending machine company turns into a series of letters revealing startling personal admissions. Davis’ letters catch the attention of customer service rep, Karen (Naomi Watts), and, amidst emotional and financial burdens of her own, the two form an unlikely connection. With the help of Karen and her son Chris (Judah Lewis), Davis starts to rebuild, beginning with the demolition of the life he once knew.
Now, you can watch the new, UK version of the trailer.
