Strictly Come Dancing gave little insight to the celebrities’ abilities on launch night last Saturday and although it doesn’t return to our screens for a number of weeks there is one celebrity who should be quaking in their tap shoes.

Jeremy Vine is the 3/1 favourite to be the first to get the boot from the show, having openly admitting he is not much of a dancer. Carol Kirkwood was paired with reigning professional champion Pasha Kovalev, but at 7/2 for the weatherwoman to be the first eliminated he could be making an early exit this year.

Despite punters coming out in their droves to back Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell ahead of the launch it seems they may have lost some faith in him as he is third in line for the chop at 5/1. Ainsley Harriott is next in the betting at 9/1 with Iwan Thomas on offer at 12/1, Kellie Bright priced at 14/1 and Anthony Ogogo and Anita Rani both a middle of the road 16/1 to go.

The celebs who look set to avoid an early exit are Katie Derham (18/1), Kirsty Gallacher (25/1), Georgia May Foote and Jay McGuiness, who are both priced at 33/1, Jamelia and Helen George who are 50/1 shots apiece with Peter Andre the 100/1 longshot.

Aoife Heffron, PR Executive at BoyleSports, commented “We only caught glimpses of Jeremy Vine in the group number, but we feel this could have been for a reason. He hasn’t been shy about voicing his lack of rhythm and it looks like it could be murder on the dance floor in week one for the Radio 2 DJ.”

She added “Carol Kirkwood was very awkward in the group dance on launch night and looked a bit lost amongst the rest of the celeb. Despite having Pasha as her partner it doesn’t look like she will be following in the footsteps of last year’s winner Caroline Flack at 7/2 to be the first eliminated.”
