Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Pacific Rim: Uprising star John Boyega may become the next great superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
At Awesome Con DC this past weekend, the Boyega opened up about how he has had multiple meetings with Marvel regarding a future role in the wildly successful film franchise. While the English actor did not detail what kind of character he would play, it certainly has gotten fans riled up about the potential casting.

Upon rumors that he would play Blade, a vampire hunter straight from the Marvel comicbooks, Boyega has addressed that taking on such a role would be a “spit in the face of Wesley [Snipes]”, who played the character in the 1998 film Blade. Boyega has made it clear that he would much rather Snipes reprises the role himself.
Boyega’s most recent film, Pacific Rim: Uprising, is in theaters now. He will reprise his role as Finn in the yet-to-be-named Star Wars: Episode IX film, set for box office release in 2019.
Marvel’s latest movie, Avengers: Infinity War, comes out in theaters April 27 worldwide.
