One of the best things about the Autumn is the incredible amount of new music releases every week. The latter end of 2016 has already given us comebacks from Robbie Williams and Bruno Mars, however, now it’s John Legend’s turn to bless us with some new music.
Following on from his global smash hit ‘All Of Me’, Legend’s latest offering ‘Love Me Now’ is a stunning beat-driven track all about loving and living like there’s no tomorrow.
“I don’t know who’s going to kiss you when I’m gone, so I’m gonna love you now, like it’s all I have.”
Written and produced by Legend with Blake Mills (Alabama Shakes) and John Ryan (One Direction), the track is a step up from ‘All Of Me’ and perfectly showcases the singer’s distinctively soulful vocals. We’ll have to wait and see if the track can mirror the success of ‘All Of Me’, however, we’re pretty confident that the new era of John Legend is going to impress all round.
Legend premiered the track with a live performance on Facebook last night, and shared the inspiration behind it, which centres around seizing the moment in life, and loving each other in the present tense. “It’s all about, you know, just loving and living to the fullest. Don’t wait till tomorrow. Hold the people you love close to you now.”
‘Love Me Now’ is the first single to be released from Legend’s forthcoming album Darkness & Light. Of the new album, Legend said, “I’m so excited to finally share music from my new album! I’ve put a lot of love and energy into making this album special. I hope my fans can feel it.”
As well as releasing new music, Legend is one of the latest cover stars of NOTION Magazine, with him being deemed as the Prom King in their School Spirit issue.
