Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will be starring in the A Star Is Born remake. Gaga will feature alongside actor Bradley Cooper, who will also be making his directorial debut.

As well as starring in the remake, Lady Gaga will also write and perform new music for the film. Gaga is no stranger to acting, having starred in and won a Golden Globe for her performance in American Horror Story. However, this will be her first studio starring role.
A Star Is Born tells the story of a young singer called Esther Blodgett, who finds rising success, while her lover and mentor’s career fades. Previous leading ladies in the movie and its remakes include Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, and Janet Gaynor.
A remake has been in the works for a long time, with Beyoncé previously being rumoured to take on the lead role. However, it has finally been given the go ahead under Cooper’s direction, although no official release date has been announced yet.
Greg Silverman, Warner Bros president of Creative Development and WW Production, said: “For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director. We are honored that he is doing it, here, at his home—Warner Bros.—and with Lady Gaga as a collaborator and co-star.”
The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star is Born.
