Lauren Jauregui started the year by dropping the video for her latest single, ‘More Than That’.
The 22-year-old wrote, directed and edited the video alongside Lauren Dunn and it is a promiscuous follow-up to her last song, ‘Expectations’.
She is a former member of American girl band, Fifth Harmony – who have topped the charts many times and collaborated with artists such as Ty Dolla $ign, Gucci Mane and Kid Ink.
They came third on The X Factor USA after auditioning solo but were collectively put together by the judges at Bootcamp.
In March 2018, they announced their indefinite hiatus in order to pursue solo careers.
The three-minute long video, ‘More Than That’, includes singer-songwriter, Lauren, channelling Greek mythology at an all women nightclub.
In the alluring video, Jauregui, is hanging with friends in her sheer, turquoise gown while watching female dancers.
Her lyrics include references to being tempted like: “I know I ain’t right for tempting you, but I just wanna see what you would do. If I gave you a taste of what I do, just remember that I don’t belong to you.”
In an exclusive email interview with Vogue, Jauregui admitted that the video is inspired by Greek Mythology, in particular, Aphrodite – the Goddess of Love and pleasure.
She said: “This video is Aphrodite’s visit to Earth, she finds herself in a unique club surrounded by the earthly embodiments of the divine feminine.
“They all are completely entranced by the strength and sensuality of the four earth goddesses before them.”
