Meghan Trainor has unveiled the title track from her forthcoming album, Treat Myself.
Whilst we’ve enjoyed all of Meghan’s new releases in the run up to the album, ‘Treat Myself’ is definitely our favourite one yet. The shimmering bop is an empowering anthem which encourages you to not only treat yourself, but to make self-care a priority.
“Damn, I been working real hard on myself, on my health, and my happiness, Hit pause on my life, took time on my mind, been working less, ‘Cause I lost myself, I forgot myself, and I don’t deserve it”, Meghan sings over an infectious piano melody which combines a modern sound with an old school vibe.
The chorus is full of self-love and focuses on celebrating yourself, something which is very important to do in a world where people love to bring others down.
Let me give myself a hand, uh-huh
Let me give myself a hand, uh-huh
Tell myself “get up and dance”
So I move my feet, I love all of me, uh-huh
Let me give myself a hand
‘Treat Myself’ has all the qualities of a brilliant Meghan Trainor song but the added message of self-care makes it one of her most standout offerings yet. You will also be able to hear the track on Target’s ‘Back To School’ TV commercials as it is the soundtrack to the campaign.
Take a listen below. PSA: Have your credit card at the ready as it’s definitely going to make you want to go out and spoil yourself rotten.
‘Treat Myself’ is the latest instant grat track from Treat Myself, and follows on from Meghan’s recent releases ‘No Excuses’, ‘Let You Be Right’, ‘Can’t Dance’, and ‘All The Ways’.
Whilst Meghan is gearing up to release her third album, she is also currently on our screens as a judge on Fox’s The Four: Battle For Stardom.
