K-pop group Monsta X and DJ and Producer Steve Aoki have collaborated on a track called “Play It Cool (Korean Version).” Aoki composed, produced, and arranged this track alongside co-writer and Monsta X rapper, I.M. The song will be released on February 18th as part of Monsta X’s new album Take.2 We Are Here.
“It was such an honor and pleasure to work with Steve Aoki on our collaboration for the track,” Monsta X stated. “Steve is such a great guy, and he’s been like a brother to us.”
In a video posted by Entertainment Tonight, the group told their fans – Monbebe – to look forward to the song since it will be “fun.” The guys also thanked their fans for all their support and making this dream collaboration possible. “Our heart belongs to you,” they said.
The group is set to perform “Play It Cool (Korean Version)” during their comeback stages in Seoul, South Korea, starting with Mnet M Countdown on February 21st before appearing on other channels MBC, KBS, and SBS.
Along with the announcement of the collab, Monsta X also revealed their tracklist for Take.2 We Are Here, which will have a total of ten songs.
February 18th will mark Monsta X’s first comeback since appearing on the Jingle Ball tour, which saw the group traveling around the biggest cities in the United States for performances alongside artists such as Camila Cabello, 5 Seconds of Summer, G-Eazy, Shawn Mendes, Marshmello, and more. The Jingle Ball tour marked an incredible point in the group’s career, as they were the first K-pop group to ever perform on the tour.
We had the opportunity to speak with the group while they were in Philadelphia. When we asked them about their plans for 2019, they predicted that it would be their “best year” yet.
With a Steve Aoki team up on the way, we think their 2019 is off to a pretty great start if you ask us.
