Welcome back to another New Music Round Up!
This week saw the release of new music from some of our favourite artists, including The Script, Kesha and The Dap-Kings Horns, Selena Gomez, and OneRepublic and Seeb. Demi Lovato and Lana Del Rey also shared some awesome new songs, albeit a little before the official New Music Friday. There were also incredible new offerings from ROZES, The Struts, CD9, and L.V.S.T.
Elsewhere, The Vamps are leading the battle for this week’s UK number one album with their third offering, Night & Day (Night Edition).
If you’re still craving some new tunes to listen to, then you’re in luck because as usual, we’ve got your back here at CelebMix. Here are eight great tracks to get your ears around.
Coldplay – ‘Miracles (Someone Special)’ featuring Big Sean
‘Miracles (Someone Special)’ is one of five tracks from Coldplay’s newly released EP, Kaleidoscope. The track sees them team up with Big Sean, which is an interesting move from the band. An official lyric video has been released, which focuses on the American immigrant experience. The poignant video was directed by Ben Mor.
Galantis – ‘True Feeling’
‘True Feeling’ is the hot new single from Grammy-nominated duo Galantis. The catchy track is laden with Galantis’ signature club beats, built around an uplifting male vocal. The colourful offering, which is bound to be another hit for the duo, was released in celebration of the pre-order launch of their new album. Their highly-anticipated second album The Aviary is available to pre-order now and will be released on September 15.
Mutemath – ‘Stroll On’
‘Stroll On’ is the second single from GRAMMY-nominated, electro-experimental rock band Mutemath. Speaking to Anti Music, frontman Paul Meany said: “Stroll On, in particular, was a jam we recorded about 5 years ago when we started writing for our last record Vitals. We shelved it, probably because I didn’t have a vocal idea for it. But when I did a shelf inventory for this new album, that track grabbed me by the throat and demanded a vocal. I’m not gonna curse this song and say it’s my favorite (because when I do, that usually becomes a least favorite for fans), but just know that I don’t not like this song a lot, and I don’t not love what I find on the shelf sometimes ;)”. ‘Stroll On’ is taken from Mutemath’s forthcoming fifth studio album, Play Dead.
Sasha Brown – ‘Parallel’
Singer, songwriter, saxophonist, and Radio DJ, Sasha Brown is ready to put her stamp on the music scene with her debut single ‘Parallel’. Co-written by Sasha, Jason Elliot and Ellie Goulding-collaborator, Joe Kearns, ‘Parallel’ is the perfect example of a soaring pop ballad. The track deals with a relationship in which both parties are well-suited but are unable to reach a point of pure emotional connection. Speaking of the track, Sasha said: “There is a frustration behind the lyrics. How can two people be moving together in the same direction, in sync, but never completely align?”
Aria Hennessy – Soul In Your Pocket
‘Soul In Your Pocket’ is the new release from Aria Hennessy. Presenting an upbeat blend of pop and RnB, Aria has delivered a slick track which is a must for any playlist. Lyrically, the track is very clever and shows off her songwriting talent. Aria is certainly one to watch in the industry. She has worked with producers for Whitney Houston, Kanye West, and Jeremih, offered her writing talents to a variety of stars and has amassed over 300,000 streams on her 2016 single ‘Where Did The Love Go’.
Loreen – ‘Body’
Swedish artist Loreen is ready to make you dance the night away with her anthemic new song ‘Body’. The former Eurovision Song Contest winner shines in this sultry yet hypnotic dance offering, and the song is a must-add track to any party playlist. We can’t get enough of this captivating dance track! ‘Body’ is taken from Loreen’s forthcoming project Nude, which is due for release on August 25.
Transviolet – ‘The Hamptons’
‘The Hamptons’ is one of the standout tracks from Transviolet’s recently released Kaleidoscopes EP, so we’re thrilled to see it being given the music video treatment. Lead by singer Sarah McTaggart, the four-piece Los Angeles band have delivered an utterly bizarre yet must-watch visual for the track. The video shows how the other half live, although we don’t think a flat out food fight is normally on the menu!
Ryan Dolan – ‘Symphony’
Ryan Dolan continues to showcase his vocals with his version of Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson’s ‘Symphony’. The former Eurovision Song Contest representative has been busy with material recently, after previously releasing an original track called ‘We Get It Right’ with S.O.O.N.
