Whether you’re a One Direction fan or not, you will have seen that today marked ten years of one of the world’s biggest boybands. To help fans celebrate special anniversary content has been released including a throwback filled ’10 Years of One Direction’ video.
If you thought you were emotionally prepared to watch the video, we’ll warn you now to think again. Get ready to relive memories you’d thought you’d forgotten about and hear songs which have a whole lot of history attached to them. Within the video we see footage from each of the album era’s along with behind the scenes footage from tours, music videos and everything which comes with being in the band. Unseen interviews give an insight into life within 1D and the appreciation the band have had for their fans (which has been shown right back at the band!) ever since the start. It’s super nostalgic so have those tissues at the ready!
Throughout the day across their socials the guys have been reminiscing about their time together, sharing moments and memories whilst also taking the time out to thank each other, the fans and those involved in their journey.
What a journey… I had no idea what we were in for when I sent this text to my Dad ten years ago at this exact time the band was formed. Thanks to everyone that’s supported us over the years and thanks to the boys for sharing this with me #10YearsOfOneDirection pic.twitter.com/0d17ggB66x

The video was just part of the anniversary content which has been released today. Over on Spotify a ‘This Is One Direction’ playlist now has a What Makes You Beautiful vertical video and fans will also be glad to hear that ‘Magic’, ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ and ‘Irresistible’ have finally been officially added to the Take Me Home album. If that wasn’t enough to get your 1D fix then don’t worry because four reformatted EPs have been released today featuring B-sides, rarities, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions of some of their most loved tracks.
Keep your eyes on the band’s YouTube over the coming days as the celebrations don’t end tonight with a series of enhanced 4K videos (1D in even better quality!) and a live stream of the Where We Are Tour DVD set to come. Could there be even more surprises to come?

You might remember the 10 Years of One Direction website which we told you about last week, sadly due to demand the website is currently down but we know this will be worth the wait. The website over at 10YearsOf1D.com features an interactive fan experience through the bands five album eras and up to their hiatus. Expect to see videos, photos, TV performances and rarely-seen content when the website is relaunched.
Even after their hiatus one direction have continued to be one of the biggest boybands in the world but are we really surprised? Their music continues to bring happiness and joy to fans across the globe and will continue to do so for years to come. Who knows what the future holds for 1D but for now we’re just glad we have some new One Direction content to enjoy.
