The day every Over Atlantic fan has been waiting for is finally here, as the band have released their debut single, ‘What Do I Gotta Do’.
The five piece, made up of Charlie Jones (17), Sean Killeen (19), Liam Ross (19), Trevor Cash (17) and Gabriel Gomér (20), have delivered a perfect slice of pop-rock, which truly embraces the live sound they’ve been working on over the past few months.
‘What Do I Gotta Do’ kicks off straight away with an electrifying guitar and drum beat, which sets the tone for the rest of the track. The song captures the fun and cheeky side to Over Atlantic, with the guys providing strong vocals throughout. There’s no doubt that ‘What Do I Gotta Do’ is instantly memorable, with the chorus being particularly catchy. We guarantee that it’ll be ingrained in your head after just one listen!
As debut songs go, Over Atlantic have definitely hit the nail on the head with this one. It’s so anthemic, that we can already imagine how amazing it will sound live! Check it out below.
Over Atlantic formed last year, all thanks to the internet and modern technology. Charlie is from Kent, Sean comes from Liverpool, Liam and Trevor are American, hailing from Washington and Missouri respectively, whilst Gabriel is from Sweden. However, they came together after meeting via the internet and hitting it off through a Skype call!
Soon after, the five met for the first time in Los Angeles. The rest, as they say, is history. Forming an instant connection, the band made the most of their time together by rehearsing and writing music. The result of their hard work will soon be heard when they release their debut EP later this Spring. The band recently set up an Indiegogo campaign to help fund their EP and travels, offering fans some unique experiences in return, including Skype calls, private dates and a living room show. They have since surpassed their £3000 target, raising over £8000 in total.
Over Atlantic have already given fans a taste of what to expect, through a series of live performances, including a headline show at London’s The Garage which sold out in just one day. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing them live on a number of occasions, and can vouch for the fact that these five truly know how to rock a stage.
On April 1, they will be heading out on their own headline UK tour, starting with a sold out show at Unit 9, Milton Keynes (Elite Talent). They will also headline shows in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Later in the month, they will be supporting Jake Miller on his UK and European tour.
