Over 40 people suffered injuries at Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa’s concert Friday night. The duo performed in Camden, New Jersey at the BB&T Pavillion.
Around 10:30 p.m, a railing collapsed, which caused many fans to fall 10 feet on the concrete below them. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the railing separated the people in the lawn section from those in the seating area. Due to the pressure of fans pushing forward, the barrier broke loose.
Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa were performing on the second stage at the time of the incident.
After the accident, Snoop Dogg asked someone to cut the music. The concert then ended immediately afterwards, with guards escorting the performers off the stage.
An announcer then came on stage and urged everyone to remain calm while police and medics tended to those injured.
NBC News reported that most of the injuries are broken bones, bumps, and bruises. One person, however, is critically injured on his upper-body and is staying at a trauma center. Medics transported twenty people to Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Several employees from Live Nation also suffered injuries, according to a concert organizer from the event.
A temporary railing is now in place.
