Raja Kumari releases new EP ‘BLOODLINE’

Grammy Award-nominated songwriter and rapper Raja Kumari is back with her brand new EP, BLOODLINE.

Released on Friday (February 22), the five-track EP features the Sean Garrett produced single ‘SHOOK’, which has garnered critical acclaimed from tastemakers in the industry. The EP also includes the newly released ‘KARMA’, ‘ROBIN HOOD’, ‘STILL CARE’, and ‘BORN HUSTLA’ featuring Janine The Machine.

Speaking about the EP, Raja stated in a press release: “BLOODLINE asks the question, “Who are you?” It’s not just about your family line or your heritage. WHO ARE YOU? What runs through your veins and what are you willing to fight for? This collection of songs was inspired my time in India. I found strength in the Motherland, and these battle anthems are my story, my bloodline.”

Alongside her new EP, Raja also recently unveiled the first episode of her own Apple Music Beats 1 show. The New India allows Raja to shine a spotlight on some of India’s finest new talents. Highlights from the first episode can be found here, which include interviews with rappers Nucleya & Raftaar, and DIVINE.

Raja, who made a name for herself as a songwriter for the likes of Iggy Azalea, Fall Out Boy, Fifth Harmony, and Gwen Stefani, released her debut EP, The Come Up, in 2016 and has grown from strength to strength ever since.

The songwriter/rapper is currently on the road, having just performed sold out shows in Los Angeles and New York. For the next few days, you will find her supporting MNEK on his tour dates in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

There is no doubt that Raja Kumari is one to watch in the industry and thanks to her captivating and thought-provoking new collection of songs, we’re certain that 2019 is going to be a remarkable year for her.
