Last year we introduced you to electronic artist Salt Ashes, and now she’s back with new single Don’t and it’s definitely time for you to get involved in her funky, electronic sound.
We love Don’t as it is packed to the rafters with synths making you want to get up on your feet and dance along to this catchy track. Speaking of the track Salt Ashes explains ” I wrote the song with Jon Allen in one of those studio sessions where you spend the day counselling each other and then end up writing a song about it in the final hour. It’s my anti-love song and confession to a guy that I was seeing. I told him from the start that I didn’t want anything serious but he ended up wanting more and not believing that I didn’t too. I’m not looking for love right now. I had a big love and that fucked up so I’m not ready to go through another for that one to fuck up too.” It’s always important to stay true to yourself and what you believe in, and Salt Ashes highlights this perfectly through this track.
With her self-titled debut album released back in 2016, the singer has also opened up for the likes of Little Boots and Tove Styrke in her time on the scene. From the female empowerment anthem of Girls to the strong-minded Don’t, it’s no wonder support has been gained from the likes of Spotify, The Guardian, MTV and BBC Radio; Introducing, Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
If you like what you hear then be sure to keep an eye on Salt Ashes socials; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube as she’s currently working on even more music to be released imminently.
