Shawn Mendes has unveiled the soulful ‘Where Were You In The Morning?’, taken from his forthcoming self-titled album.
The brooding offering tells the tale of a one night stand, with Shawn questioning the disappearance of a lover who left without saying goodbye. “How could you make me believe that there was something in between you and me? I look around and I don’t see you”, he croons over a gentle guitar beat before showcasing his flawless falsetto in the chorus.

On Thursday night (May 17), Shawn performed a set for Apple Music Presents: Shawn Mendes, One Night Only. In addition to showcasing some of his new material and taking part in Apple’s Q&A, Shawn was joined on stage by John Mayer to perform ‘Where Were You In The Morning?’.
Shawn’s self-titled album will be released next Friday (May 25). The album will include the previously released ‘In My Blood’, ‘Lost in Japan’, and ‘Youth’ featuring Khalid.
In addition, Shawn will be heading out on a worldwide tour in support of the album. So far, the tour will span Europe and North America. Full dates and ticket information are available on Shawn’s website.
