Simon Cowell has threatened co-judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw with the potential return of ex judge Louis Walsh if the show becomes ‘too boring.’
The pressure is on for Simon this year to help try and beat main rival, dance show Strictly Come Dancing.
This has included the show making several changes including doing away with the room auditions, Judges Houses being filmed live (a first for the show), new judges and new presenters – to name a few!
When asked in a recent interview how show veteran Louis Walsh felt about leaving the show, he stated that he ‘loved it and had a really really great time’ but said he wouldn’t be back this year on the show. The Boyzone and Westlife manager said how he would be missed on the show.
Louis has said that Simon ‘works hard and won’t let the show slip.’
Simon has said he wants to cause controversy around the show to get people talking – even if it means bringing back Louis Walsh to vamp up the show.
Louis has said that he is back at his day job now of managing new Irish band Hometown – consisting of members Ryan, Dean, Josh, Cian, Dayl and Brendan -whose debut album comes out this weekend.
He says he felt that his day job of managing bands took a back seat when it came to X Factor as it required his full attention.
X Factor returns to our screens this Saturday at 8pm.
