On Friday, Sia released her latest track ‘Rainbow’, taken from the soundtrack to the forthcoming film My Little Pony: The Movie. Now, the vocal powerhouse has unveiled its magical music video.
Directed by Daniel Askill, the video for ‘Rainbow’ sees Sia join forces once more with dancer Maddie Ziegler. The talented youngster has starred in five of the singer’s previous visuals, including ‘Chandelier’, ‘The Greatest’, and ‘Elastic Heart’.
At the beginning of the ‘Rainbow’ visual, we are introduced to the character of Songbird Serenade, which is based on and voiced by Sia. Later on we see the Mane Six – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity – among other characters in various clips from the film, which are intertwined with powerful scenes of Maddie dancing. Her movement is truly breathtaking and reinforces the empowering vibe of the song.

‘Rainbow’ is one of thirteen songs on the My Little Pony: The Movie soundtrack, which is due for release on September 22. Artists such as Lukas Graham, DNCE and Rachel Platten have also contributed songs.
My Little Pony: The Movie is set for release on October 6. The movie stars the regular voice cast of Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain, and Cathy Weseluck. There will also be guest performances from the likes of Sia, Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, Liev Schreiber, Michael Peña, Taye Diggs, Uzo Aduba, and Zoe Saldana.
This is not the first movie soundtrack that Sia has been involved with recently. Her track ‘To Be Human’ featuring Labrinth, featured on the soundtrack to Wonder Woman, whilst her collaboration with Zayn, ‘Dusk Till Dawn’, appears on the trailer for Mountains Between Us.
