Sophia is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter who has been quietly honing her craft from a number of years. Taking experience from her childhood, in which she travelled an extraordinary amount, the artist has an interesting story to tell. Her music is wise beyond her years and is woven together with conviction and creativity.
2017 has been pretty special for Sophia so far, having already toured the UK and recorded at the iconic Abbey Road studios. She has also begun production on her debut EP which will be released later this year. Her experience and hard graft has enabled her to perfect her sound, demonstrated by her debut single ‘Give Me Heart’ which was released today via Orphan No More.
‘Give Me Heart’ is a truly stunning offering from Sophia. From the opening seconds, the track is captivating with her vocals drawing you in instantly. The song combines pop, folk and gospel elements, intertwined with an acoustic vibe which tugs at the heartstrings.
Speaking about the track, Sophia said: “This song is about leaning into the mystery, where what rings true in your heart surpasses the need to know it all from your head. I’ve learnt that this is where freedom lives.”
The song has also been given a beautiful visual, directed by Toby Mitchell and cinematography by Dominic Döring. ‘Give Me Heart’ is honest and full of emotion, allowing Sophia to make her mark as a powerful artist worth listening to.
