This week saw Steve Grand dropped two promotional singles whilst also announcing his brand new album. That is right, Steve Grand’s second studio album is on its way. It is titled Not The End Of Me and contains 15 tracks. This week saw him release two instant grat singles which are “Don’t Let The Light In” and title track “Not The End Of Me”.
These double instant grat singles follow up his recent collaboration with Michael Medrano on the track “Heal“, and his first official single from this album, titled “Walking“. Not The End Of Me is his sophomore album and is expected to be released on 6 July 2018. His debut album, titled All American Boy, was released through crowd-funding site, Kickstarter, breaking records on the website – the campaign became the third most-funded music project in Kickstarter’s history, and became the number one most-funded music Kickstarter by a musician never affiliated with a label at the time. Since then he’s released cover songs, collaborated with Eli Lieb on the song “Look Away“, had his single “We Are The Night” remixed by Dave Audé, and he released a Christmas cover version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. His career started when he went viral with his video for “All-American Boy”, and now look how far he has come.
The instant grat songs, “Don’t Let The Light In” and “Not The End Of Me”, are tracks four and seven respectively. They show off Steve Grand’s versatility and fully manage to show off the direction he has taken for this album, and we are seriously getting chills.
“Don’t Let The Light In” is reminiscent of “All-American Boy”, just because it’s an emotional ballad with Steve Grand completely impressing us with his music and his vocals. It’s visionary, really showcasing a story of love and fighting for a relationship. It’s full of strength and beautiful chemistry that will appeal to every person who is currently in a relationship.
As for the title track “Not The End Of Me”, it has a notable piano backing his vocals throughout. Once again, it’s highly emotional with Steve Grand tapping into his thoughts and his honesty. He sings about loneliness – for the second time, meaning this album revolves around his loneliness – and how he has been burned by past relationships. It’s a strong and powerful track and far removed from his jovial pop tracks such as “Walking” that was the first official single from this album – it sure is an interesting track to title an album after.
“Don’t Let The Light In” and “Not The End Of Me” are available to download on iTunes, if you pre-order the album you will instantly receive these two songs. We expect the Not The End Of Me album to be released on 6 July 2018 on all major platforms. Steve Grand also has merch available on his website, including CD and Vinyl versions of the new album – signed copies are also available at an extra cost.
