In early July, Entertainment Weekly announced something awesome. For the first time ever, the magazine company decided that fans would get to choose the show represented on the cover of their Fall TV issue.
They began the contest with sixty-four shows. As time moved on, the amount dwindled down dependent on who fans voted for. It eventually came down to the final four: The Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, and Arrow.
After many weeks of voting, a winner was finally declared.
On September 6th, an image of the supposed winner’s cover surfaced on a few social media outlets. Shortly after, it was formally announced by the company.
The incredible fans of Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins stole the show, earning Supernatural a spot on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s Fall TV issue.

The cover features both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, the men who have been playing Sam and Dean Winchester respectively for twelve seasons. It also includes Baby, the 1967 Chevy Impala the show’s brothers have been driving in since the beginning. To top it all off, the usual space between the e’s in the magazine’s name have been replaced with small drawings of a moose and a squirrel. Only Supernatural fans will truly understand what they stand for.
According to Entertainment Weekly, their magazine subscribers will soon receive the special issue in the mail. For people who don’t have the subscription but want Supernatural‘s awesome cover, it will be available exclusively at Barnes & Noble beginning on September 9th.
While Supernatural is currently on ‘hellatus’ (better known as hiatus), it won’t be for much longer. The show’s twelfth season is set to premiere on October 13th on The CW. The long-running fantasy series also has a special day coming up, which has been noted as ‘Supernatural Day‘, on September 13th. The date was chosen in honor of the show’s first episode, which premiered on September 13th, 2005.
