Rob Resnick and Cal Shapiro make up Timeflies, a superstar duo, originally from New York and New Jersey, who recently ditched the east coast for sunny California. A big life change for the pair resulted in a new hit “Once In A While” and now they’ve released the video for the track that’s sure to be part of your summer playlist.
“I thought I would know better
That’s wishful thinkin’
Thought there’d be no pressure
That’s wishful drinkin’
Is anything forever or just a feeling?
What have I been so afraid of?
I don’t know”
The song combines a smooth sound with a bit of hip-hop and a party vibe that makes it perfect for any young adult who feels the stresses from their day to day life and just wants to cut loose. After all, we’re all looking for a bit of an escape of our own every once in a while.
The video starts with the pair engaging in the mundane activities of day to day life before they’re dropped into the middle of a party where the atmosphere brings life back into their eyes and soon, they’re the soundtrack of the now pool bash! The end has a cool “was that real” moment that most of us experience the morning after a crazy night out. The video is enough to make you want to get your swimwear, book a flight to Los Angeles, and live the rest of your summer with your best friends, some drinks, and this song as the backtrack for it all.
You can purchase “Once In A While” on iTunes or stream it on Spotify. If this song is anything to base the rest of their music off of, we can’t wait to hear what they’ve got up their sleeves for us next.
