One of our favourite TV moments during the festive period is the Top of the Pops Christmas and New Year specials. Today, the BBC has announced who will be performing on the shows, which celebrate the biggest hits and most successful acts of 2016.
Hosted by Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates, the Christmas Day Special will be reviewing 2016’s year in music. The line up will include Clean Bandit featuring Anne Marie, DNCE, Olly Murs, Skepta, Jonas Blue featuring Dakota, Zara Larsson, Calum Scott, Kungs, James Arthur, Craig David, and Louisa Johnson.
On New Year’s Eve, there’ll be another special episode, showcasing 2016’s greatest hits and brightest chart stars. Anne Marie, Clean Bandit, Louisa Johnson, Craig David, Zara Larsson and Jonas Blue (featuring JP Cooper and Blossoms) will be making another appearance. They will be joined by Nathan Sykes, Dua Lipa, Alan Walker, and Kideko & George Kwali featuring Nadia Rose & Sweetie Irie.
Fearne Cotton said: “The festive Top of the Pops specials are such a wonderful tradition, and I’m so happy they’re back for another year. The line-up is as epic as ever, and the show’s promise to be a special watch.”
Reggie Yates added: “Hosting the annual Top Of The Pops Christmas and New Year’s Eve specials is one of the highlights of my year – it’s always a pleasure to present the biggest pop party on TV alongside my old friend Fearne.”
