Broad Green Pictures have just released a new trailer and poster for the haunting new thriller film Wish Upon.
Wish Upon is directed by John R. Leonetti (Annabelle), produced by Sherryl Clark (Cloverfield), and written by Barbara Marshall. The film stars Joey King, as well as Ryan Phillippe, Ki Hong Lee, Mitchell Slaggert, Shannon Purser, Sydney Park, Alice Lee, Kevin Hanchard, and Sherilyn Fenn.
The trailer shows Joey King as 17-year-old Clare Shannon, who 12 years after her mother’s suicide, has to deal with typical teenage problems, such as being ignored by her crush and being bullied by the mean girls at school. However, all that seems to change when her father comes homes with an old music box that has an inscription that promises to grant its owner seven wishes.
The trailer shows her Clare’s friend warning her of the dangers of the box, since there have been many freak accidents in the past involving it. Clare can’t help but be tempted by the box’s powers, and eventually uses them to grant her every wish. Everything seems perfect as she finally gets the life she’s always wanted, but soon the people around her start dying in violent ways after every wish she makes.
