After a week of teasing fans on social media, You Me At Six have released a brand new single called “What’s It Like” along with an accompanying music video.
It’s a different sound to the band’s previous songs, with the most striking feature being the electronic music at the start and during the chorus.
Josh Franceschi explains: “‘What’s It Like’ is us flexing our creative muscles. Combining our favourite genres and bringing them together in one track.”
It’s clear to see that You Me At Six are branching out and exploring different musical genres but the moment that you hear Franceschi’s voice, you can instantly recognise it as You Me At Six.
This single marks the band’s first new music since their album “VI” was released back in October 2018 and could possibly pave the way for the direction of future music from the guys.
The music video comes with a trigger warning as there are a lot of bright lights and flashing images, creating an almost hallucinogenic feel and experience for the viewer.
With several festivals coming up in You Me At Six’s calendar, including Reading and Leeds and Gunnersville, we guarantee that they will play this new track live, and we can’t wait!
