Anne-Marie has unveiled her highly anticipated sophomore album Therapy, which includes her new single ‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’ featuring Little Mix.
The 12-track album was released today and is a cohesive body of work which celebrates her characterful artistry, self-effacing attitude and beautiful honesty. It includes the previously released ‘Our Song’ with Niall Horan, ‘Don’t Play’ with KSI and Digital Farm Animals, and ‘Way Too Long with Nathan Dawe and MoStack.
Upon the album’s release, Anne-Marie took to social media to say “Making this album got me through the last year and I hope it helps you in some way too. This is for everyone who’s struggling, everyone who’s thriving, everyone who is starting the journey of loving themselves.”
Among the many highlights of Therapy is ‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’, the fierce collaboration featuring Little Mix. Written by Anne-Marie with Kamille, the track is an euphoric slice of pop-RnB which serves girl power in abundance. Sampling the iconic early 00’s Lumidee track ‘Never Leave You (Uh Oh)’, this anthem is an empowering and liberating bop which gives a kiss off to toxic relationships.
‘Kiss My (Uh Oh)’ comes accompanied by an incredible music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis. Inspired by the girls’ joint love of the movie Bridesmaids, the visual follows Anne-Marie in character as a bride-to-be embarking on her overseas hen-do. Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade are part of her bride tribe and we see the girls living their best lives. As night falls, pregnant Perrie and Leigh-Anne opt for a chilled evening of relaxation whilst Anne-Marie, Jade and the rest of the gang continue the party in the best way possible with shots, strippers and plenty of snaps to remember the evening by.
The album also includes ‘Beautiful’ which Anne-Marie premiered earlier in the week. Co-written with Ed Sheeran and Max Martin, ‘Beautiful’ is a powerful reminder that we need to accept ourselves, flaws and all, because underneath it all we are all beautiful. The track even features her godson and his little sister singing at the end.
In celebration of the release of Therapy, on August 7 Anne-Marie will be performing the album in its entirety for the first time during a global livestream event hosted on streaming platform, ON AIR. Tickets are available now.
Later this year, Anne-Marie will also be releasing her first book titled You Deserve Better. Due for release on September 30, the part-memoir, part practical self-help book will see Anne-Marie draw on her own experiences “to help readers tackle life’s challenges, embrace opportunities and celebrate their successes.”
