Ariana Grande is back with her highly anticipated sixth studio album, “Positions”!
The 14-track record sees the pop superstar continue to explore the R&B/trap sound she has previously experimented with, while some of her most mature and sexual lyrics feature in many of the songs.
Many of the tracks from the new release also take influence from other genres, such as jazz, neo soul and hip hop, while Ariana continues to showcase some of her best vocal moments in years.
Ariana has worked with long-time collaborators Tommy Brown and Victoria Monet on the album, as well as other songwriters and producers including Ryan Tedder, Scott Storch and London on da Track.
She has also worked with rappers Doja Cat and Ty Dolla $ign on the tracks “motive” and “safety net” respectively, as well as singer The Weeknd on “off the table”. This marks their second song together, after the two previously duetted on “Love Me Harder”, taken from Ariana’s second studio album “My Everything”.
The release of “Positions” comes after Ariana dropped the album’s title track as the lead single last Friday (23 October), with the song since becoming her 7th number one hit in the UK.
Ariana had previously confirmed on Twitter earlier in October she would be releasing her new album this month, sending her fans wild with the exciting news.
The hitmaker’s previous studio album, “thank u, next”, was released in February 2019.
Earlier this year, Ariana also collaborated with Lady Gaga on the smash hit single “Rain On Me”, and Justin Bieber for the charity single “Stuck With U”, which went to number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
