After being discovered through her acoustic covers on Youtube, Alessia signed a record contract with Def Jam Recordings and released her debut single “Here”, in April 2015. According to MTV, the single was described as a “song for everyone who secretly hates parties”. On May 5th, 2015, the song was listed as the “can’t-miss” track by Spin and also the “must hear song” by Cosmopolitan.
Here was also included in Billboard’s “20 Pop Songs You Need For Your Summer Playlist” in June 2015, and Rolling Stone ranked it as number 21 on its end of the year “50 Best Songs of 2015”. She later released her debut EP “Four Pink Walls” on August 28th, 2015, and released her debut album “Know It All” on November 13th, that same year.
