Aston Merrygold is the gift that keeps on giving. After surprising fans with a brand new track called ‘Poison Ivy’ on Christmas Day, he later released the action-packed music video for the song.
Directed by Aston himself, the visual sees the singer go to a club with a friend before falling asleep on one of the sofas. He is soon transported into a vivid dream where he takes on the role of Batman, who has to save the world against a jewel thief.
The video is slick and perfectly matches the RnB vibe of the song. We also love how Aston brings his creative vision to the table in addition to his fun and cheeky personality.

‘Poison Ivy’ rounds off a brilliant year for Aston, including the release of singles ‘Bon Appetit’ and ‘Across My Heart’ featuring Gawler. He also released a new music video for his single ‘Get Stupid’ which was given a new lease of life after it soundtracked the advert for the Samsung Galaxy S9.
Aston also performed a headline UK tour and joined Harry Judd and Louis Smith for the Rip it Up the 60’s tour. The trio also announced that they, along with Jay McGuiness, will be bringing Rip It Up to the West End in 2019.
Most recently, Aston returned to Strictly Come Dancing with his dance partner Janette Manrara to compete in the Christmas special. Having been knocked out early in series 15, the couple had unfinished business with the show and came out on top, winning the special with an energetic jive.
On a personal level, Aston welcomed his first child, a baby boy called Grayson Jax, with his fiancee Sarah Richards.
