Dancing on ice is set to hit our screens again in the new year. The show comes with a new line up of celebrity skaters for 2020.
Although a specific date for Dancing on Ice has not yet been confirmed, it is predicted that the programme will launch at a similar date to the previous two series which was on January 6th and 7th.
Back in September ITV began to tease its new celebrities taking part in the show, but who are they?
Maura Higgins
Reality star Maura Higgins was the first name to be revealed for the show. She was coupled with professional dancer Curtis Pritchard earlier this year in ITV’s Love Island.
Michael Barrymore
Michael Barrymore will also be putting his skates on. He was a popular host of primetime TV shows on BBC and ITV throughout the 80s. He made a comeback to our TV screens back in 2006 when he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house finishing second place.
Joe Swash
Most popular EastEnders, Joe Swash will also be taking to the ice. He was the winner of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here back in 2008 and then later went on to present the shows spin-off programme I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp.
Ian Watkins
Another Celebrity joining the line up is Ian Watkins, known as H from Steps. He is a 90’s pop icon and has previously made TV appearances on Celebrity Big Brother and he even guest-starred in an episode of E4 drama skins. H will make Dancing on Ice history and will be paired with a male skater, making them the first same-sex skating partnership in the history of the show.
Perri Kelly
Perri Kelly shot to fame in the dance group Diversity back in 2009 when they won Britain’s Got Talent. He has also participated in Celeb’s Go Dating.
Lisa George
The sixth celebrity to be announced was Coronation Street actress Lisa George who is best known for her role of Beth Tinker.
Libby Clegg MBE & Hattie
Sprinting champion Libby Clegg who is registered blind will also be taking part in the show alongside her guide dog Hattie. The athlete won two gold medals in the 2016 Paralympics that took place in Rio.
Trisha Goddard
90’s talk show icon Trisha Goddard is another celebrity who will be returning to the screen with skates on. She was best known for her morning talk show ‘Trisha’ which then went stateside where she hosted The Trisha Goddard Show.
Lucrezia Millarini
Lucrezia is best recognised as a newsreader for ITV. She is in charge of ITV’s lunchtime and weekend bulletins, breaking some of the biggest news storys to the world.
Kevin Kilbane
Another name announced was retired footballer Kevin Killbane. He hung up his football boots back in 2012, and now he will be trading them in for ice skates
Ben Hanlin
The tenth celebrity set to take to the ice in the new year is magician Ben Hanlin who is most famous for his ITV programme tricked.
Caprice Bourret
Finally, joining the show is Caprice Bourret. The American Business Woman, model and actress has appeared on Hollyoaks and Sky One’s football drama dream team.
