Disney release a new trailer for ‘Descendants 2’

A new trailer for Disney’s highly anticipated Descendants 2 movie has dropped. The film is coming to Disney Channel this year and, after another trailer has dropped, fans’ excitement has surely doubled.

The first Descendants film, which was released in 2015, features the children of famous Disney characters, (hence the title – clever, right?) and follows Ben, son of King Beast and Queen Belle, as he invites the exiled children of defeated villains to attend a prep school with the heroes’ children.

In the sequel to the well known, and well-loved, fantasy/action film, Mal returns to the Isle of the Lost to hunt down her archenemy Uma, daughter of Ursula. She is teaming up with Harry, the son of Captain Hook, and Gil, the son of Gaston. The movie stars actors including Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce and Sofia Carson.

Disney recently dropped a short teaser trailer for the film, short being just fourteen seconds, which left fans itching for more. So, Disney delivered the goods and have blessed our eyes with a second, longer trailer for Descendants 2. Watch it below.

In this second trailer, all starts off well. Ben surprises Mal with a motorcycle and the atmosphere is just generally very happy. That soon changes, though, as the words “Just when they’ve found happily ever after, their wicked past is calling them home” are uttered by a voiceover and viewers soon realise this film is going to be anything but calm and peaceful.

The trailer then shows the characters revisiting the Isle of the Lost, where Uma is fighting to take them down. In one tense-looking scene, she and Mal engage in a sword fight, which is sure to leave the audience on the edge of their seats.

So far, we have had a series of trailers from Disney in the lead up to the official trailer for the film. First, we had a teaser video; then, a Long Live Evil trailer; before, we were treated to another teaser video.

As well as that, there’s also a behind the scenes video as well as promotional posters. More recently, Disney gave us the gift of an official music video for What’s My Name, sneak peeks of the sword fighting in It’s Going Down and a teaser for Meet The Forgotten Villian Kids. Oh, they are spoiling us!

Descendants 2 looks action-packed and suspenseful, as the “It’s going down” in trailer number two suggests. But, never fear, it also looks entertaining with hints of comedy and musical numbers to add excitement and involve the audience. And, as we all know, no one does a musical number like Disney!

Let us know how you’re feeling about Descendants 2. Are you looking forward to watching the rivalry between Mal and Uma escalate? Who do you think will come out on top? Tweet us @CelebMix.
