John Newman takes us back to the boxing ring today as he unveils the video for the acoustic version of his current single, ‘Fire In Me’.
Filmed at Repton Boxing Club, the visual pays homage to the original video which was released in March and reflects the song’s fighting spirit. Joined by his band, John gives the song a different edge by building towards a powerful crescendo rather than going in all guns blazing.
If anything, the acoustic version allows John to deliver his most passionate and compelling performance of the song yet. With determination etched on his face, we can feel every inch of John’s emotion throughout the track. Not only does this make it easy for listeners to resonate with the inspiring lyrics but it makes us love the anthemic offering even more.

The acoustic version of ‘Fire In Me’ is available on Spotify now. Over the past few weeks, John has also unveiled two remixes of the song by Sigala and Martin Jensen.
It’s safe to say that John is stronger than ever and this is only the beginning for his new musical era. With a new outlook on life, a burning desire to play Wembley Stadium next year, and more music on the way, there’s no doubting that John Newman is a force to be reckoned with and one to watch this year.
