In an exclusive interview at North London’s Zebra One Gallery with Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch Winehouse revealed that many stars from around the world would be participating in a cover project to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
As stated on the official Amy Winehouse Foundation website:
The Amy Winehouse Foundation works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. We also aim to support, inform and inspire vulnerable and disadvantaged young people to help them reach their full potential.
Big names like Lady Gaga and Leona Lewis are expected to contribute by covering an Amy Winehouse track.
Mitch has stated that he’s a big fan of both artists. Mentioning Lady Gaga he stated:
He further discussed the project by talking about the YouTube channel “where stars all over the world are going to do an Amy track and however many hits we get after the first 2 million: we start making money for the Foundation”.
