Back in January, the Czech Republic was one of the first countries to announce their entry for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. Three-piece band Lake Malawi won the countries national selection with the song “Friend Of A Friend” after topping the international jury’s vote and coming second in the general public’s vote.
At the time of the national selection each entry had filmed a low budget video set in the same apartment. In the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest, however, a brand new video has been relaeased for “Friend Of A Friend”.
The video begins with the lead singer scrolling through his Instagram feed before joining his bandmates on a white set in what is a video on their Instagram account. Throughout the video, we see lots of video clips presented on the bands Instagram feed which really seems to fit with the young, fun vibe of the song. It also includes clips of fans singing along to the track.
As well as this, the track has also had a slight revamp, taking inspiration from Lake Malawi’s live performance which we loved!
