After three years since the release of The Hunting Party, Linkin Park is making a return to music very soon with their upcoming seventh album.
Last week, the band posted a few cryptic pictures on their Instagram page, and more recently, the band has been releasing promotional videos teasing the new album. In one video, lead singer Chester Bennington says, “We’re just focused on writing really great songs that mean something to people. We’re trying to connect with people. We’re trying to make a record that has stellar songs that people want to listen to all the time.”
Then, on Monday, February 13th, the band posted a picture of their seventh album’s cover art on Twitter, but have yet to announce the title.
The band also released the lyrics to their new single “Heavy,” which will feature singer Kiiara, and is set to release on February 16th. The chorus goes as follows:
“I’m holding on
Why is everything so heavy
Holding on
So much more than I can carry
I keep dragging around what’s bringing me down
If I just let go, I’d be set free
Holding on
Why is everything so heavy”
