It’s been almost three years since Lorde’s debut album was released, thus making her one of the most respected young female artists in the industry.
Pure Heroine killed it on the Billboard charts and her hit singles like ‘Royals’ and ‘Team’ became the anthems of the year. But since then, she’s been keen to keep any upcoming projects of hers pretty secretive.
Apart from ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’, a song she released for the movie Mockingjay of The Hunger Games series, fans have been left a bit in the dark in regards to any new music from the singer.
Lorde has hinted about her second studio album here or there, and she’s tweeted about lyrical and musical breakthroughs she’s had throughout the years, but fans are still anxiously waiting for a new single, a release date, or even just an album title. And so far, the suspense is overwhelming.
But finally, Lorde has given us a tiny bit of hope. A fan recently commented on her Instagram, asking “Do you think we will ever get another album or should we just give up on you as an artist?” Lorde was pretty quick to come back with a response.
So good news for us – The album is complete! And not only that, she sounds pretty dang proud of it, too. It seems like she’s just working hard to put forth her best effort, and we definitely aren’t going to complain about that.
Works of art like Pure Heroine don’t just come together overnight, and we don’t mind waiting a tiny bit longer for an album that’s reminiscent of her first.
